Adaptive Swim Lessons
Swimming With Autism (S.W.A.M.) is an Adaptive Swim Program at the City Center, Roses of the YMCA. S.W.A.M. offers personalized, small-group swim lessons (1:1 or 2:1) for children with ASD, built on a curriculum designed to develop foundational water safety skills and build confidence in and around the water. Our goal is simple: to create a fun, inclusive experience where every swimmer feels supported and empowered to succeed.
Water safety is a critical life skill — and for individuals with autism spectrum disorder, it’s especially important. The National Autism Association recognizes that people with ASD are often naturally drawn to water due to its sensory qualities, making swim education an essential priority for families in our community.
