Welcoming Week

We are currently planning our events for Welcoming Week 2023, which runs from Sept. 8 to 17!

York Events

September 8 – Second Friday Latino, kick off to Hispanic Heritage Month and Welcoming Week. When and Where: 6:00pm – 9:00pm, 50 N George St, York PA.

September 12 – York County Literacy Council Open House. Where and When: 12:30pm – 3pm, in student classrooms at 1416 6th Avenue, York PA 17403.

September 13 – Welcoming Week Cultural Jam at Martin Library. When and Where: 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Martin Library, 159 E Market St, York PA 17401

Lancaster Events

September 9 – CWS Unity Cup Soccer Tournament Opening Ceremony. When and Where: 9:30am – 2:30pm at Roberto Clemente Field, 466 Rockland St, Lancaster, PA 17603

September 9 – AACA Parade. When and Where: Starts at 1pm, King Elementary School

September 10 – YMCA of the Roses Introduction to Water Safety. All participants must register by 9/8, click here to register. Each registration will cover one child (6-18 years old) and one related adult. The program will be free, but is limited to the first 10 registrants due to staffing (max. 10 children, max. 10 adults, 20 people max.). When and Where: Sunday, September 10, 1pm – 3:15pm, City Center YMCA, 265 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster PA 17603.

September 12 – Welcoming Week Resolution at Lancaster City Council meeting. When and Where: 120 N. Duke St., Lancaster, PA at 6:30 p.m.

September 14 – Human Library at the Lancaster Public Library. When and Where: 2:00pm – 6:00pm at Lancaster Public Library, 123 N Queen St.

September 16 – Powerful Woman Live hosted by Latino Connections. When and Where: 9:30am – 2pm at City Center YMCA, 265 Harrisburg Avenue, Lancaster PA 17603.

September 16 – Swahili-Speakers Fashion Show and Meet & Greet with State Rep. Smith-Wade-El. Where and When: 3pm – 4:30pm at Lancaster Public Library, 151 N. Queen Street, Lancaster PA.
