Sport performance is in Lancaster with Savage Roses Athletics. YMCA of the Roses has data proven programs to help athletes excel and become their best.
Running, Football, Soccer, Basketball, Field Events, Swimming, and more are all programs we are working with. Weightlifting and powerlifting are two others and below are the differences between the tow.
Weightlifting is an athletic discipline which requires lifting of heavy weights in a progressive manner. It not only tests the physical prowess of an individual but also his/her rate of force generation, i.e., ballistic actions of lifting the weights in minimum amount of time. Snatch and Clean & Jerk are the lifts for this Olympic Sport.
Powerlifting is a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift.
All programs are part of our Savage Roses Athletics and incorporate the YMCA Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility. The focus is on pushing an individual past their limits with the support of a community.
