Defensive driving may look a little different today than when we first got our licenses—and it’s not just about wearing a seatbelt. Defensive driving uses key tactics to help you stay safer on the road, including:

• Managing your speed
• Expecting the unexpected—from other drivers and in general
• Keeping yourself alert and distraction-free
• Practicing a safe following distance
• Driving according to road and weather conditions

This course is not a driving course you will have an instructor talk to you about safe driving techniques.

Youth 12 & Under require a swim test wristband.

• Non-swimmers with a RED BAND require a guardian (18+) in the water within arm’s reach, and they MUST WEAR a life jacket.
• All Children under 5 who are a Yellow Band or Green Band swimmer MUST have an adult 18 & over in the water at ALL times. Children 6-12 MUST have a parent poolside.
• Yellow Band swimmers MUST stay in shallow water that is roped off 
• ALL Children 6-12 MUST have a parent poolside 

This October, the City Center YMCA is hosting its first-ever Tri the Y Indoor Sprint Triathlon on Sunday, October 18th. — and we’re inviting local businesses and community supporters to join us as sponsors.

Get ready to make a splash this holiday season! Santa’s trading in his sleigh for scuba gear and diving into the pool at the YMCA of the Roses for a jolly good time underwater!

Bring the whole family for this fun and festive event where kids can swim with Santa and snap some photos in the pool (or on the pool deck). It’s the perfect mix of holiday cheer and YMCA fun!

This holiday family swim is from 12:00 – 3:00 pm. Pictures are from 12:00 – 2:30 pm. We ask that you sign up for a picture slot, but you may swim and enjoy the pool the whole time.
