The YMCA Weight Loss Program is designed to help people seeking a healthier weight by making small changes to daily behaviors and forming sustainable, healthy habits.

Program Description:

  • Weight loss program
  • Small group supportive environment
  • 12-week program
  • 1 hour class per week
  • Learning, sharing, problem solving
  • Weekly topics such as balanced eating, physical activity, goal-setting, positive psychology, and behavior sustainability

The YMCA’s Diabetes Prevention Program (YDPP) is a lifestyle change program proven to reduce the number of cases of Type 2 Diabetes by 58% for adults, and by 71% for seniors.

Program Description:

  • Evidence-based program
  • CDC approved curriculum
  • Small group supportive environment
  • 25 FUN sessions delivered over ONE YEAR – 16 weekly, 3 every-other week, and 6 monthly sessions
  • Facilitated by a certified lifestyle coach.

Goals:

  • Lose 5 -7 percent of body weight
  • Gradually increase physical activity 150 weekly minutes
  • Healthy eating
  • Portion control

Eligibility:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • Overweight with BMI of 25 or greater
  • Diagnosed with prediabetes via one of the three blood test or previous diagnosis of gestational diabetes

This class is designed for beginner through advanced swimmers.  Pool is set aside for this class only! Focus on proper stroke technique and endurance.

*If the YMCA holds class but your child is absent due to illness, you will need to provide a doctor’s note to Tammy Shore (Aquatic Director) to schedule a make-up during your currently enrolled session.

Join our pick-up volleyball league held at the LS High School Gymnasium. This is a co-ed program that allows all skill levels to participate and play with a bunch of friendly people! Games start Wednesday, October 5th and run weekly until December 21st.

  • October 5-November 16 the times will be 7 pm-9:30 pm
  • November 30-December 21 the times will be 7:30 pm- 10 pm

Join us for non-stop, fast-paced games using soft rubber coated foam balls. Adults can play with or against your teen or come without a teen, and teens can play with or against your parent(s) or come without an adult.

Teams formed each Sunday for recreational play.

Children ages 3-12 are invited to join us in making holiday crafts and have fun with our photo booth while you shop.

Welcome to Parents Night Out! Once a month drop your kids with us where we swim every other month and have themed activities other months. These activities include crafting, games in the gym, and learning/discovery events all designed and customized to be engaging and entertaining for each age group. We typically have pizza, water and a snack for the kids during the event.

JANUARY

Programs

Project Iron is a 12-Week, detailed tracking, weight training program for youth ages 8-12 interested in improving their lifting techniques.

Participants will meet 3 times a week for 12 weeks.

Coaches include:

  • Coach Ben
    • Tuesday and Friday evenings from 6-7:15 pm
    • Sunday mornings from 10:30-11:45 am
  • Coach Randy
    • Monday, Wednesday, Friday afternoons from 4-5:15 pm

Join us in participating in one of the fastest growing sports in America. Pickleball is a paddleball sport that combines elements of badminton, table tennis, and tennis. Players play as singles, doubles (same gender), or mixed doubles (one male, one female) on a 44′ x 20′. Players play with a wiffleball like ball and wooden or composite paddles.

We offer a variety of programs ranging from a beginner class for those who are new to the sport, and intermediate program for more experience players, and a pickleball league for those who wish to test their skills against.

The Alzheimer’s Association® provides care and support to those affected by Alzheimer’s and all other dementia through free, high-quality education programs sponsored by the YMCA of the Roses. These individual education sessions cover a variety of topics on Alzheimer and Dementia.

These 30 to 60 minute virtual & in-person classes are led by a certified YMCA facilitator. Each session includes Q&A opportunities for discussion and will provide participants with the most up to date information regarding each topic.
