York YMCA Girls Volleyball Club
The York YMCA Girls Volleyball Club is entering it’s 14th season. The club takes great pride in the integrity of the program, coaches, players, and parents, and is affordable as financial assistance and fundraising is available. Goals of the club include enhancing players individual and team skill development through quality coaching, competitive play, and additional programing, provide competitive volleyball experiences that value teamwork, responsibility, sportsmanship, and fun in the pursuit of excellence, and enhance players character development through quality coaching and community service opportunities.
Try-outs for 12-14U begin October 22 with the 15-18U beginning November 12. Look for announced dates and times on the York Girls Volleyball Club facebook page and this site in the fall. YMCA members and non-members, and all skill levels, are welcomed to attend try-outs. After try-outs, all players become a part of the YMCA community and York YMCA Volleyball Club family. Participants are required to obtain a YMCA membership, after try-outs, from December – May. Youth memberships are $21/month. Membership provides access to year-round training facilities and access to all YMCA of York & York County Branches (York/Downtown, Dover, Southern/Shrewsbury). Teams practice one weekday evening and Sunday afternoons for two hours each, weekly, December through May (12-14U potentially ends in April), with approximately two weekend tournaments a month from January-May, with the majority being one day tournaments and less than a two hour drive. Monthly volleyball dues range from approximately $120-$199/month. For further information or to register for try-outs, contact [email protected] or click here.
